Ditched MinGW - Open Watcom v2 does the job, provides us with 386 compatibility and smaller client executable.

I noticed no performance hit as a result running on a 386 machine (40mhz, 32MB of RAM!) emulated with 86Box running Windows 95 OSR2.5.
