So the XDG directory specification is now respected by marathonrecomp which will allow users of the software to compile and install the binary in a directory that might not be user-writable.
i will probably update the pr soon, at the moment the application does not check for portable.txt in the installed files. it would be nice to at least have the option to run the game in a portable mode.
