2.34 Sponsor (P859)
The "sponsor" (P859) property is also known as “patron”. This property is to be used for those people or organisations who are a patron or support the expedition but NOT financially. An example item is the S. A. Andrée's Arctic Balloon Expedition of 1897.
If the organisation or person supports the expedition financially the appropriate property to use is "funder" (P8324). It is possible for the same person or organisation to be both a sponsor and a funder.
